Physical Training

the body is & has always been at the heart of my work.

i draw on 15+ years of experience training people from all walks & stages of life.

physical training is a no-end-path of developing a more integrated relationship with the structure & movement of the body.

strength, mobility, coordination, physical-resilience, confidence & capacity are by-products of the work - relationship to physical reality is the focus.

who is physical

training for?

the short answer? anyone with a body.

i’ve supported teens recovering from open heart surgery, middle schoolers trying to stay out of trouble & elders seeking to live more gracefully toward their impending transition.

i’ve worked with able bodied athletes training for elite performance & with Vietnam veterans walking through their 70’s on prosthetics.

i’ve helped men & women recover after joint replacements & trained championship bound basketball teams.

i’ve moved with dancers, martial artists, climbers, swimmers, walkers, doctors, engineers, data-analysts, computer programmers, therapists, scientists, spiritualists. i’ve supported moms (& dads) postpartum, helped couples build strength together & trained seniors to retain & regain the ability to get up & down from the ground unsupported.

across every single context the common thread i’ve found

to both limit & liberate the people who’ve trusted me is

the state of their relationship to their body

in every context the training is focused on building capacity to be present in the body while simultaneously building capacity to explore the ways we can interact with our environment.

the kettlebells, the soft-acrobatics & steel-maces, the yogic stretching & breath work, the internal & external martial arts, the rock stacking & climbing - every modality is a path but the destination is the same.

in my long study of bodies, movement & lifestyles what i’ve found (over & over again) is that when that relationship (between awareness & physicality) is intact, integrated & actively being tended life feels better, aging feels better, everything feels better.

physical training is not a solution to all life’s challenges, it won’t take them away, but it certainly helps us face them with more grace, more capacity & more confidence.

through physical training we move into

deeper relationship between

awareness & physicality
